We are helping four Ukrainian communities to create effective, sustainable household waste management systems. The project is implemented with the support of the European Union’s LIFE program.

Zero Waste City is a city based on the following principles:

• prevention of new waste generation;
• reuse of existing resources;
• rational consumption of resources;

Zero Waste Alliance Ukraine is an association of Ukrainian organisations and activists working to solve the waste problem in Ukraine.

The main goal of the union is to influence the reform of the resource and waste management system in Ukraine.

Unfortunately, the country was not ready for the existing volumes of destruction and their constant growth. Such waste was generated even before the full-scale invasion, so the issue of regulating its management did not arise today.
