The Zero Waste Lviv community was formed at the end of 2016 as a volunteer advisory centre at Lviv City Council on waste minimisation and prevention. Subsequently, it registered its activities as Zero Waste Lviv, an NGO whose mission is to promote the implementation of zero waste principles in Ukraine by creating a model municipality – Lviv – that will serve as an example for other Zero Waste City candidates.
